Intel Inside Program website redesign
Working with XPLANE, I redesigned the Intel Inside Program website from the ground up.
Intel’s Intel Inside program (a platform for manufacturers to submit and receive reimbursement for co-marketed materials that feature Intel) was incredibly difficult to use. Key users (HP, Asus) had created their own departments and training materials to teach employees how to navigate the frustrating interface.
First, I worked with Intel to identify the users of their system and tackle fundamental issues with how they approached information. This involved a 2-day information and requirements gathering session where we identified key users of the system and Intel’s business requirements. From that starting point, I was able to identify SMEs to interview in order to gather user stories and create task flows.
Armed with user stories and task flows, we streamlined the presentation of data in a new sitemap. The new architecture was aligned with how their users approached the site. We were able to create assets that spoke to them and helped drive them to the content they were searching for. With this new understanding of users, Intel was given the tools to iterate on this pattern to organize content relevant to emerging media in a way that was intuitive to users of the site.
Finally, I created a new visual language that could be applied across the site that leveraged Intel’s branding and user experience design best practices. The resulting Intel Inside site has won multiple awards within Intel for its user-friendly design and architecture.
